Port Vila Market
The waterfront market in Port Vila is the most authentic place to spend a morning on Efate. Fresh produce, local fruit, handwoven baskets, wooden carvings, and kava powder all under one roof. The surrounding Lini Highway has cafés, boutiques, and the relaxed pace of a small Pacific capital going about its day.
Havannah Beach
On the northwest coast about an hour from Port Vila, Havannah Beach, also known as Survivor Beach from the TV series filmed here, is one of the most secluded and uncommercialised stretches of coastline on the island. No entry fees, no snack stands, just a long quiet beach with good snorkeling and a bar for cold drinks. Best reached as part of the island loop drive.
Kava bars
Kava is the ceremonial drink of Vanuatu, made from the root of the pepper plant and consumed across the islands every evening.
