Tongatapu has a warm tropical climate year-round. May to October is cooler and drier; November to April is hotter, more humid, with heavier rain. Cyclone season peaks roughly December to March.
How to Get There
Fly into Fuaʻamotu International Airport (TBU), about 30–45 minutes from Nukuʻalofa by taxi or transfer. Most visitors connect via Auckland, Sydney, or Fiji. Car rentals are common for getting around the island.
